Celebrity News: Peek African-Inspired Decor of Beyoncé’s Baby Shower – Just when we thought Beyoncé couldn’t possibly outdo herself, the singer goes and throws herself perhaps the most over-the-top celebrity baby shower to date. On Saturday, the Lemonade artist celebrated the upcoming birth of her twins with husband Jay Z at what was coined the “Carter Push Party.”The two are already parents to 5-year-old daughter Blue Ivy.
The superstar’s mother, Tina Knowles Lawson, posted photos and videos of the tribal-themed fête to Instagram, in which the African-inspired decor is on full display. Guests, including LaLa Anthony, Vanessa Bryant, Serena Williams, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams, sat on rows of orange cushions with pink-, green-, red-, blue-, and yellow-patterned pillows. Carpets of various colors and patterns and traditional African wall tapestries completely encased the room, with leopard-, tiger-, and zebra-print fabrics sprinkled throughout.

The tables had African lanterns, wooden elephants, and floral arrangements of roses and poppies similar to the one Beyoncé posed with in her Awol Erizku–shot pregnancy announcement from February. The proud grandmother had guests yell “Happy Carter push party!” in one video posted.
In another, she scanned some of the smiling guests as high-energy tribal music played in the background. Dressed for the occasion per usual, Beyoncé shared photos of her look, complete with a patterned skirt and bralette, a traditional dhuku (or African head wrap, which originated in sub-Saharan Africa), and an intricate henna tattoo decorating her bare baby bump. Jay Z also dressed to theme, topping his all-white look with a kofia hat, which is a traditional headpiece worn by men in East Africa.
