Inside Elie Saab’s Luxurious Paris Apartment – “Symmetry is the ultimate goal,” architect Chakib Richani says of the apartment he conceived for fashion designer Elie Saab in Paris.
In the living room, the low table and sofas Richani created were “inspired by the cube,” he says.
An Empire-style chandelier and rows of candles illuminate the dining room. The custom stainless-steel Wing table “is a contemporary touch to a classical room,” says Richani, who designed it.
Mirrored screens line a wall in the master bedroom. “My basic design statement is to add character through new elements that repeat, distort and attract in their own right, leaving the architectural elements untouched,” he explains.
He’s considered to be the Arab world’s most successful designer. By 2010, Saab had dressed 102 international celebrities. Additionally, he is an established designer amongst royalty with habitué, including Queen Rania of Jordan, Princess Madeleine of Sweden and Princess Beatrice of York.

At the age of eight his attention was already turned to fashion. He used to cut patterns out of newspaper and searched his mother’s closet for any lace he could find. He used his sister as his model, raiding his mother’s closet for anything he could drape upon her. However, his family was pleasantly surprised when he turned out a blue and white striped gown for his sister.
