President Obama holds a 2015 press conference at Camp David, the official presidential country retreat used by every commander in chief since Franklin D. Roosevelt. About 70 miles northwest of the White House, the property was named by Dwight D. Eisenhower in honor of his father and grandson.
Laura and George W. Bush’s Central Texas estate served as the so-called Western White House during his eight years in office. The couple now resides in Dallas and uses the Crawford ranch as a relaxing getaway, where the former president paints.

After Bill Clinton’s presidency, the Clintons decamped to another white house—this one on a quiet cul-de-sac in the hamlet of Chappaqua, in Westchester County, New York.
Just north of Santa Barbara, California, the sprawling “Rancho del Cielo” served as Ronald Reagan’s Western White House in the 1980s.
Richard Nixon’s Western White House was the stunning La Casa Pacifica in San Clemente, California.
The famous Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, comprises three residences on six acres, and other family members also have homes nearby.
