Celebrity Homes: Get to Know Actress Joy Bryant LA Home – Bryant reupholstered a pair of low-to-the-ground vintage chairs she found at a flea market in a granny-chic floral textile.
Their living room is oriented around an expansive oatmeal-hued Dellarobia sectional, above which hangs a diptych of drawings by Jean André. Throw and Mongolian lamb pillow cover by West Elm; Chinese hand-spun pillow from Nickey Kehoe; printed velvet pillow from Nathan Turner.
A nubby striped pillow and West Elm throw soften the already cushy sofa.
“On the weekends I just want to be in a creative space, and this house is really conducive to that,” says Bryant. In the living room, a stiff-backed safari-style rosewood and leather chair got the nod of approval only after Bryant polled her most stylish friends.

Bryant’s passion for books extends to her coffee table, where a prized Gustav Klimt monograph shares space with photographer Jimmy Nelson’s epic tribal-culture homage Before They Pass Away and a set of Japanese hand-painted ceramic trays from Nickey Kehoe.
A Tuberose Diptyque candle and Michelle Quan ceramic accent top a marble side table in the living room.
Bryant, who recently turned 40, takes a balanced approach to birthdays: “Friends in their 20s ask me for advice, so to be able to share the things I’ve been through—that’s what it’s all about,” she says. “And then I’m like, God, I’m so lucky I’m not their age!”
A pair of bright white candlesticks by Stephen Antonson from Nathan Turner and an Astier de Villatte bowl from Nickey Kehoe add a modern sensibility to the midcentury-leaning dining room. An Art Deco portrait completes the eclectic scene.
