Celebrity Homes: Johnny Depp is Selling his Penthouse Collection – If there’s one thing Johnny Depp is consistent about, it’s his style. The actor has his own way of dressing—and, not surprisingly, furnishing his houses. Yes, plural. Back in 2002, Depp scooped up a penthouse apartment at Downtown Los Angeles’ historic Eastern Columbia Lofts and, over the years, he’s added to it. Depp has accumulated five penthouses and, now, he’s unloading all of them.

If he gets the asking price, he stands to make a whopping profit, too. What started as a $2.1 million investment, shortly after the 1930 apartment was renovated, is now listed at $12.75 million. What exactly does one get for that price? A combined nine bedrooms and 14 bathrooms with prime top-floor space and “direct access to the building’s magnificent sky deck featuring a pool, spa, and fitness studio,” as listing agent Kevin Dees of Partners Trust tells The Wall Street Journal. As for how Depp used the home, he apparently “kept them largely separate, living in them ‘like rooms in a home’,” says Dees.

The timing of Depp’s decision to sell them is curious, since DTLA’s real estate renaissance is ongoing. Depp didn’t cite his recent divorce from Amber Heard as a reason, though WSJ did say that he “felt that ‘it was the right time to divest of that asset.'”

The condos, which Depp is selling as one package or individually depending on interest, fittingly received the Hollywood treatment, with a luxe video (and clubby instrumental soundtrack). It offers a glimpse into Depp’s world with cheetah chairs, vintage signs, crushed velvet furniture, and a half-naked portrait of himself hung above the couch.
