We’re revisiting the best couples of the ’90s, which, thanks to the inevitable presence of Kate Moss, grunge, and tween beauty products, is quickly becoming our favorite decade ever.
“Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
But woke up to find
A new colour: it’s you.”
Johnny Depp and Kate Moss
I mean, should we count the ways on this one? Oh wait, we already gave them their own retrospective. They are the very essence of the ’90s: ridiculously cool and perfect, and we didn’t realize how obsessed we were until they were over.
From the time they met at Cafe Tabac in NYC in 1994, to their ultimate, permanent split in 1998, they walked red carpets together, wore coordinated outfits, smoked in tandem, broke up, made up, and even got engaged. Their memory can live on with the rest of our wonderful nostalgia for that amazing decade. Sigh.
Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love
As Cobain rose to fame with Nirvana and Love with Hole, this duo took the title of the royal couple of grunge after meeting in 1989. Each struggled with drug abuse, issues that became further complicated when daughter Frances Bean was born in 1992. They married in Hawaii shortly after Frances’ birth, but the end of their union was swift and tragic: Cobain committed suicide on April 5, 1994.
Cameron Diaz and Matt Dillon
They started dating in 1995, but split three years later in 1998. Apparently, Dillon wanted to settle down, but after filming There’s Something About Mary, Diaz wasn’t ready for a family quite yet.
Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt
After meeting on the set of Seven in 1995, Paltrow and Pitt were engaged by December 1996. They broke up six months after that, and I’m just a tiny bit sad that we’ll never get to experience the blondest, most blue-eyed kids ever (though his kids with Angelina Jolie certainly won the gene pool lotto as well).
Tom Cruise And Nicole Kidman
Two the most well paid celebrities in Hollywood were together in the 90’s! They were married for 11 years, and were one of Hollywood’s most glamorous couples. To Vanity Fair, Nicole referred to the life she lived with Tom as a “bubble,” because of their huge fame as a couple.
Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake
The pop-star Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake are another couple that nobody forgets! The youngest pop stars met when they were child stars in “The Mickey Mouse Club”, and were one of the pop world until their messy split in 2002.
And after they break up, in 2011 Justin Timberlake admitted that the inspiration for “Cry Me a River” was his ended relationship with Britney Spears. Sweet after all.
Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston
In second place, one of the top hollywood celebrity couples – Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston! Even last week we talked about her. But, today’s is about there relation with Brad. Not a lovely couple like Brad and Angelina today, but in at the time, they are the top celebrity couples in hollywood! Who don’t remember that?
They met on a blind date in the spring of 1998. The date was set up by their agents.
Victoria and David Beckham
And finally, one of the most long-lasting relationships, the power couple – Victoria and David Beckham! This couple is together since David Beckham meets her at a charity football match.
They are together, happy and living with theirs son’s in a luxury home in England, like you can see in our article! They are the real 90’s power couple, looking fabulous in every charity, every event, every football match they come.
