The St. Regis Aspen Resort Aspen, CO 189 Keys The St. Regis Aspen Resort retained Rottet Studio to conceptualize a quintessential mountain manor similar to what John Jacob Astor, the visionary behind the St. Regis brand, would have designed during the Gilded Age for the seasoned traveler.

The Resort is the contemporary version of a Gilded Age mountainside manor which provides an uncompromising base for arbiters of fine food and wine, connoisseurs of culture and adventure seekers. The $40 million interior and exterior renovation represents the new standard of luxury design in Aspen and holds true to the style and elegance of the St. Regis brand.

The design is a unique blend of historic luxury and tradition with the unpredictable addition of contemporary art and attitude, underscored by clever furnishings and accessories. The deliberate design and structural updates speak to the sensibilities of Aspen residents and guests.

Aspen is a very unique place in the world – a physical and cultural paradise that is inspiring in itself. The hotel emulates what is unique about the region and making the building feel more a part of its natural surrounding was core to the design team’s perspective. The team focused on enhancing the feeling of the indoor/outdoor connection, bringing natural light into the space and creating a design that encouraged guests to engage with the environment.

In fact, the design was directly inspired from the colors and seasons of Aspen – looking out in the summer onto brilliant green grasses, blue skies and this unusual color of light violet gray that permeates like nowhere else in the world. Even the furniture in the lounge is arranged in such a way to encourage guests to take refuge by the fireplace and large windows and immerse themselves in the natural beauty of their surroundings.

The floor plan was completely restructured to allow panoramic views of the mountain from anywhere in the hotel and to improve operations and guest accommodations. Through the dark metal frame glass doors, the entry vestibule invites guests into a large, open reception area with views of the mountain the moment you step inside. The chandeliers that hang in the reception area are a reminder of the class, sophistication and history of the address and provide a welcoming glow upon arrival.

Emulating a guest suite in a historic late 19th century mountain manor, a subtle mix of winter grays and summer warm tones blend the room with striking outside views and natural textures to create a rustic, yet sophisticated environment. The antiqued oak flooring features a warm, dark stain overlaid with a delicate white wash; an accent rug adds additional warmth.

Rooms are outfitted with custom furnishings including a leather bed and desk designed by Ralph Lauren. Exquisite marble bathrooms offer double vanities, bathrobes and Remède bath amenities. More privileged of guests have the option of the Loft Suite which boasts dual fireplaces, two bedrooms and two baths or the Presidential suite which offers the pinnacle of luxury and contemporary opulence at its finest: soaring ceilings, designer furnishings, epic mountain views, the latest in technology and a sumptuous king size St. Regis bed.

Complimenting it all is a 60” flat screen television and baby grand piano. And should you require anything further, your own exclusive St. Regis butler is available 24 hours a day, poised to fulfill each and every request.
