Dream House From A Star Is Born Movie – Los Angeles Times writer Amy Kaufman took to Twitter with a link to a Zillow post she claimed was the house from A Star Is Born. “Amazing news!!!! We have tracked down my dream home from @starisbornmovie and it’s only $2 million, so I will be moving in immediately!!!!” she wrote.
The rumor is true: Permits on file with FilmLA confirm that the production team at Warner Brothers Pictures shot at the home for 15 days. Built in 1973, the single-story dwelling in the Monte Nido neighborhood of Calabasas was designed by Malibu architect Douglas Rucker, who, coincidentally enough, also designed a house for Kris Kristofferson, star of the 1976 version of A Star Is Born opposite Barbra Streisand. The Calabasas home was later renovated by Dan Meis, the Staples Center architect who bought it in 2015 and lived there until last year, when he sold it to an LLC named Eden Wild for a smidge over $2 million.
Designed by renowned Malibu architect Doug Rucker, this home features classic mid-century and architectural elements, vaulted and beamed ceilings, and a great flow for indoor/ outdoor living. Nestled in a rural setting among creek beds and mature oak and sycamore trees, this home embodies country living just outside the city but within commuting distance. With an open concept living area and floor to ceiling windows, there’s no shortage of natural light or wooded views. Bordering Malibu, Topanga, and Pacific Palisades this tucked away neighborhood is Calabasas’ best kept secret. Whether you’re hosting a dinner for family and friends or simply relaxing below the beauty of the night sky, this home is a show stopper and an unforgettable find.
