Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi Sell Montecito Property – They listed the scenic spread for $39.9 million in October and found a buyer a few weeks later, records show. The superstar couple have been busy managing their real estate portfolio this year—in June, they sold a Tudor-style house to Ariana Grande for $6.75 million after buying it to flip in January. They currently spend most of their time at a Beverly Hills compound they bought from Adam Levine for $42.5 million in 2019.
Known as the Salt Hill estate, it features an 8,188-square-foot main house with three bedrooms and fou and a half bathrooms; a detached 1,400-square-foot guesthouse; a 720-square-foot cabana-gym; and a 400-square-foot guard shack for full-time security officers. It should be noted that the home was ransacked this past Fourth of July, and that DeGeneres and de Rossi installed a brand-new state-of-the-art security system before they listed the property in October.
The Bali-inspired estate sprawls across nine acres with a backdrop of mountains and the ocean below. Combining three parcels, it has a stylish low-slung home, a spacious guesthouse, security office, cabana, gym, pond, pickleball court and an infinity pool overlooking the Pacific.
The main mansion features an all-glass front door that opens onto a cavernous great room with dark oak floors and a thatched bamboo ceiling, with an entire wall of glass at the far end that opens directly onto a spacious covered veranda overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
