Frank Sinatra’s LA Estate is for Sale – If you’ve ever wondered how Frank Sinatra lived, or what it was like to attend Judy Garland’s wedding, or how being on the set of Mad Men, Dreamgirls, or Californication feels, your questions can now be answered with a peek at the listing for L.A.’s legendary Byrdview house.
The midcentury-modern estate hit the market for $12.5 million this week, offering a piece of Hollywood history to the lucky taker. Located just minutes from the celebrity enclaves of Calabasas and Hidden Hills, the estate sits atop a private promontory directly above the 1,325-acre Chatsworth Reservoir nature preserve, with 360-degree panoramic views of the surrounding valley and mountain ranges. Secluded and with celebrity-worthy privacy, the home has a half-mile long driveway that leads to the vast land below.
Built in 1949 by great American architect William Pereira, Byrdview is still considered one of the most recognized celebrity homes in the country, and is one of only four homes that Pereira designed in his lifetime. While Sinatra inhabited the space for just about a decade, Judy Garland and Vincente Minnelli were married on the property in 1945, Marilyn Monroe once lived in the guest house, and Byrdview has been the set of many beloved shows and movies.
