Shaquille O’Neal Mansion with Indoor Basketball Court – NBA legend Shaquille “Shaq” O’Neal has listed his highly customized mega-mansion in Orlando for $28 million. The three-acre estate is located at 9927 Giffin Court in the Windermere suburb of Orlando and sits beside Lake Butler in a private golf community called Isleworth. The enormous 12-bedroom home has 31,000 square feet of living space, with every room and detail supersized for the 7′1″ star.
The master suite has a 15-foot-wide circular bed bearing the Superman logo, a reference to one Shaq’s nicknames. The suite takes up a full wing of the home, complete with a four-room master closet and his-and-her master baths. There are four other en-suite bedrooms, two with balconies on the second floor.
The formal dining room seats 16 amongst hand-crafted wood paneling and molding, and the chef’s kitchen has a six-foot, granite-topped cooking island along with multiple ovens and refrigerators.
A two-way coral stone fireplace connects the kitchen nook and family room on the main floor, which also includes a soundproof home theater, a gallery hall, and a “gentleman’s room” full of entertaining accessories. There’s also a walk-in cigar humidor.
Shaq’s design tastes are unique, to say the least. One of the rooms features a full-wall mural depicting Shaq as a tractor-trailer driver, with the front cab turned into a sculpture/aquarium that juts out into the room. A salt-water aquarium room is covered in Egyptian hieroglyphics, and the Superman motif is spread throughout the home.
The former NBA star’s house unsurprisingly has a 6,000-square-foot indoor basketball court with bleachers. Although fewer people would remember Shaq’s music career—despite his several Billboard 100 hits in the ’90s — it also boasts a 2,100-square-foot secondary garage with a dance studio and enclosed recording studio. Combined, the two garages can fit about 17 cars, the Wall Street Journal reports.
The outside patio, which is reportedly nicknamed “Shaq-apulco,” features a summer kitchen, a covered boat dock with an electric boat lift and a life-sized Superman statue, and a tiki-style open cabana overlooking the lake. If guests aren’t fond of swimming in lakes, they can cool off in the 95-foot-long and 15-foot-deep pool with a custom rock waterfall or in the sunken hot tub.
