When lovely Oscar-nominated actress Michelle Williams sold her Boerum Hill townhouse for $8.8 million celebrity news world started to speculate that she and her daughter Matilda would move next to a celebrity home. The answer, according to a juicy scoop from neighborhood blog Ditmas Park Corner, is Prospect Park South.
A 114-year-old Colonial Revival on Albermarle Road, to be precise, which has a columned, two-story front porch that led its broker to heavily reference Gone With the Wind in the listing.
The eight-bedroom, six-bath house is in contract, and it was last asking $2.45 million. So it’s huge, historic, and filled with fireplaces—”on architectural steroids,” one might say—but it’s also definitely in need of some upgrades. Williams apparently said, “I love living somewhere that feels like the suburbs but is next to an express train.”

Michelle Williams, who moved to LA to pursue acting roles, has successfully sold the Brooklyn home she and the late Heath Ledger bought together in 2005. When the gorgeous, ivy-covered six-bedroom house at the corner of Hoyt and Dean streets first listed in September for $7.5 million, commenters thought it was “overpriced,” with an ask better suited to Brooklyn Heights than Boerum Hill, but clearly a buyer—shielded by a cryptic LLC—was wooed by the “insanely beautiful” and “absolutely stunning” property. Because it went for a whopping $8.8 million, or 17 percent over ask.
