Celebrity Homes: It’s rare that a legendary late actor’s family keeps her property intact for more than 60 years, but that’s exactly what happened with this New York City apartment once owned by Greta Garbo.
Featured in the April 1992 issue of Architectural Digest, the home is located in the Campanile, a famed and exclusive co-op in Manhattan’s Midtown East neighborhood. Garbo purchased the fifth-floor home in 1953 and lived there until her death in 1990.

Now the Garbo family has listed it for $5.95 million, reports Curbed. Spanning 2,855 square feet, the apartment features three bedrooms, three baths, a living room with built-in bookshelves, and an office. The building has just 16 units, so it’s a rarity for there to be an opening at all, let alone in this legendary suite.
