It’s time for a celebrity news: Emmy Rossum, star of “Shameless”, Sells her NYC Apartment for $1.1 million. Just months ago, the celebrity home had a spectacular renovation.
The pied-à-terre (or, as she dubbed it before the renovations, the “pied-à-teardown”) was Rossum’s retreat when she visited New York City, though her main residence is a 3,621-square-foot residence in a Beverly Hills cul-de-sac that she purchased for $2.1 million in 2006, reports Variety.

After the renovation led by Brooklyn-native designer Antonio Buzzetta, her Manhattan getaway on East 57th street was exactly what Rossum had envisioned: “chic, European, the look of a modern girl who has inherited her grandmother’s stuff,” she told Buzzetta. The star wanted a youthful energy with elegant old-fashioned touches.
All of the furniture Rossum added to the 1-bedroom apartment was new, although some were antiques, and the space features herringbone floors, casement windows and custom closets throughout. According to the listing, the co-op is situated in a circa-1928 white-glove building just off Sutton Place.
Throughout the home, features stay thoughtful: The fireplace in the living room has been faced with 19th-century carved Cararra marble from Paris while cerused oak built-in bookcases offer plenty of storage space for good reads.
