
Celebrity Homes: The townhouse was Bob Dylan’s home for 14 years and now it’s up for sale for $3.7 million.
You may assume that a home belonging to a celebrated musician has hints of memorabilia dedicated to him throughout, but from the listing photos, Dylan seems to have taken a quiet bow out when he sold the house in 2000. The current owners purchased it from Dylan for just $650,000, according to Curbed.
The neighborhood, known locally as Striver’s Row, has seen a number of famous residents throughout history, including musician Eubie Blake and composer Noble Sissle.
Over time, the home has undergone careful renovations to preserve its original features. Filled with oak details, the 5-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom townhouse features original pocket and wood doors, sophisticated crown molding, wainscoting and six original decorative mantel fireplaces. Typical of carriage houses, this home has an interior courtyard that can be used for outdoor entertaining and private parking.

Also typical of homes built during the early 1900s, a separate staircase leads to a butler’s pantry on the parlor level from the kitchen (likely once used to serve food to the family or guests), reports 6sqft. In the front of the house, a wider staircase leads to a front landing, a formal dining room and a living room complete with a Juliet balcony.
