The House Once Belonged to Henry Fonda was Sold for $10M – An Upper East Side townhouse previously owned by both the late Academy Award-winning actor Henry Fonda and Theodore Roosevelt’s son, Captain Kermit Roosevelt, has sold for $9.9 million, according to the brokerage firm Leslie J. Garfield, which had the listing. It was originally listed for $11,225,000.

Located at 151 East 74th Street, the home was built in 1878 by architect John B. Snook. Fonda hosted his wedding to Italian baroness Afdera Franchetti here in 1957, and the home received landmark status in 2011.
Though the 5,400-square-foot mansion retains its historic façade, inside it has been tastefully renovated, with an eat-in chef’s kitchen and master suite. It has eight bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms set on five floors (plus a basement), a garden, terrace and fireplaces with beautiful mantles.
Representatives for Leslie J. Garfield declined to disclose the buyer of the house, though they did say that he or she is a New York City real estate developer.
