Buy Suzanne Somers Palm Springs Estate – Suzanne Somers and her husband, producer Alan Hamel, bought the 70-acre estate in 1977 as a retreat from their busy Hollywood lives.
Suzanne Somers is letting go of an important part of her past. The former Three’s Company star just put her $14.5 million Palm Springs desert compound up for auction, and she isn’t setting a minimum price for the sale. Somers and her husband, producer Alan Hamel, bought the 70-acre estate in 1977 as a way to get away from the peering eyes of the paparazzi surrounding their Venice, California, home. The Palm Springs property consists of five French country–style buildings that total a whopping 7,300 square feet, with eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms spread throughout the desert oasis.
“The layout of our home is unique,” Somers told People. “It’s a great one for having guests because they can each go off to their own cottages at the end of the day and have privacy.” The buildings themselves are built right into the side of the mountain, with four separate levels and access to each via private roads and stone pathways. The main house features a 5,000-bottle wine cellar and a formal dining room that can seat up to 32 (perfect for entertaining), and a crystal chandelier adds the perfect French flair to the room. Yet another villa, known as the Rock House, is located directly above the main residence and features a rock shower, meditation garden, and claw-foot tub. But perhaps the best part about Somers’s fantasy-like home is the number of outdoor living and dining areas that it boasts—a total of ten, including several fire pits and an amphitheater carved into the rocks.
