Celebrity Homes: Tour Inside Kelly Slater Hawaii Home – Kelly Slater recently purchased a beachfront home on the north shore of Oahu for $7.8 million, according to Trulia. The pro surfer beat out ten other offers on the home.

Slater is familiar with the area: It’s the same place where his family would vacation when he was a child. The seven-bedroom, seven-and-a-half-bathroom compound is infused with Asian and Hawaiian design elements, made especially apparent by the serene boardwalk over an outdoor pond with a Buddha statue sitting in the midst of tropical plant life. The 8,009-square-foot main residence is situated along 101 feet of private beach, with two additional guesthouses on the property that all open up to the pool, wide lawn, and private gardens. Views of the grounds and beyond can be enjoyed from multiple balconies and covered patios.

The high-ceilinged living room opens directly into the courtyard, giving a natural flow between indoors and outdoors. Carved wood elements enhance the grand staircase surrounding the living room and dress up the walls of the dining room. The kitchen has natural wood cabinetry with a long, curved island offering additional counter space. Multicolored hardwood flooring adds dimension to the master bedroom, which has a seating nook and private balcony offering views of the ocean. Throughout the home, finished wood and dark beams decorate the ceilings in many of the rooms, giving the space a cohesive feel.
