In 1957, a tidal wave struck the home and shoved it back to the center of the property. The top of the home miraculously remained intact and the beach cottage was built from the wreckage while crews were rebuilding the bottom floor.

The house rents starting at $1,500 per night. The cottage goes for a more reasonable $350 per night.
