Celebrity News: Know you can Buy The Mary Tyler Moore Show House – The Minneapolis house that was used in exterior shots representing Moore’s apartment in the 1970s sitcom The Mary Tyler Moore Show is making a resurgence with a new, lower price as it nears its fifth year on the market.
The home, which was built in 1900, is listed by Coldwell Banker Homes. It was initially put on the market in June 2012 for $2,895,000. Over the past five years, the asking price has declined by over a million dollars, dropping down to $1,695,000.

Interestingly, the listing does not mention that the home appeared in The Mary Tyler Moore Show, perhaps because past homeowners had to deal with more attention than expected while living there. Evan and Naomi Maurer, who bought the house in the 1980s, eventually grew to love the odd attention that came with it, but the woman who lived in the home while the show was still on air “was overwhelmed by the people showing up and asking if Mary was around,” Moore told the New York Times. When the sitcom wanted to shoot updated exterior footage of the house during later seasons, the owner had reportedly covered the house in “Impeach Nixon” signs to keep them away.

While the interior shots on The Mary Tyler Moore Show weren’t filmed in the home, the inside of the house is absolutely worth a peek anyway. The seven-bedroom mansion comes decked out with nine bathrooms, a gym, and a sauna—the last of which you’d probably need, living in Minnesota.
