Inside Fashion Designers Homes – Part I – We already know that fashion designers have impeccable taste when it comes to outfitting models, but many of these stylesetters are just as talented at creating looks for their own homes.
Marc Jacobs
In the living room of Marc Jacobs’s Manhattan townhouse, a 1962 Ellsworth Kelly painting surmounts the custom-made mica mantel. Diego Giacometti bronze stools join a Jean Dunand lacquer cocktail table and a Eugène Printz side table on the bespoke V’Soske rug. Armchairs in the manner of Francis Jourdain are covered in a Holly Hunt fabric.
Tommy Hilfiger
In the baronial entry hall of Tommy and Dee Hilfiger’s historic house in Greenwich, Connecticut, an antique iron chandelier hangs over an 1840s Gothic Revival library table and Martyn Lawrence Bullard–designed stools, which are dressed in a Robert Kime print with a Samuel & Sons fringe trim. Veronica Toub
The Paris flat of Veronica Toub, founder of the fashion label VMT Los Angeles, was renovated by Laurent Bourgois Architecte. In the salon, a vintage Paul László sofa faces cocktail tables by Hubert le Gall. At left hang artworks by Maurice Estève, and between the windows is a piece by Helen Khal; the carpet is Turkish.
Josie Natori
In the master bedroom of Josie Natori’s Palm Beach getaway, a 1940s reading lamp is attached to the Calvin Tsao–designed headboard; the pillows, coverlet, and throw are by Natori Bedding, and the carpet is by Vanderhurd. The vintage Sergio Rodrigues desk is from Noho Modern, and the desk lamp is by Blackman Cruz.
Roubi L’Roubi
Vintage de Sede sofas encircle a Charlotte Perriand cocktail table in the London drawing room of fashion designer Roubi L’Roubi and financier Pierre Lagrange. Veere Grenney Assoc. oversaw the largely black-and-red decor, installing the Jamb mantel, the custom-made Luke Irwin carpet, and the Fortuny damask wall covering that serves as a backdrop for works from the couple’s exceptional art collection. Displayed on the far wall are paintings by, from left, Robert Motherwell, Robert Ryman, L’Roubi (the group of four), and Bruce Conner, while a Francis Bacon hangs above a Cady Noland sculpture of sawhorses.

Stefano Pilati
While fashion designer Stefano Pilati’s Paris duplex is bursting with color and a treasure trove of antiques and artifacts, his master bedroom is artfully spare. The soft-gray walls highlight the 18th-century Italian painting given to Pilati by his mother.
Fiona Kotur
In the Hong Kong library of tastemaker Fiona Kotur and her family, the pair of Christian Liaigre armchairs and the custom-made sofa and its pillows are all covered in Manuel Canovas fabrics; the cocktail table is by Yves Klein, while the Moroccan carpet from Woven Accents and the floor lamp in the corner are both vintage. Brass picture lights by Ralph Lauren Home top the bookshelves.
